Guzheng Ensemble was founded in 2005. In 2005, our members were few so our students were not confident in winning awards in competitions. However, during SYF Competition in 2007, we managed to clinch the Bronze Award. Since then, the students and the teachers share a common dream: more progress and breakthroughs for the CCA during each SYF Competition held once every two years.

Due to the diligent efforts put in by the students and the teachers, we won the Silver Award for SYF Competition in 2009 and 2011.

The Guzheng Ensemble obtained a Silver award for 2011 SYF Central Judging .It has maintained its achievements. This year, percussion instruments have been added to the Guzheng score arrangement, which is different from previous years.

Since the formation of the ensemble, we have actively participated in school events such as the Chinese New Year celebrations and National Day celebrations as well as public events which included the Mid-Autumn Festival.

During CCA sessions, we encourage our students to put in their utmost efforts in strengthening their understanding of zither music and melody, develop friendships and learn the importance of leadership and teamwork.

The next upcoming event for the group will be our SYF Competition in 2013. We will do our very best to achieve good and outstanding results to make our school proud!
