Under the leadership of Ms Soh, the PE Department imparts sports knowledge and skills, as well as inculcates good values and the right attitude in all our students, so as to enable them to pursue an active and healthy lifestyle which is achieved in a safe and conducive learning environment.
The PE Department comprises a group of very caring and dynamic teachers, each with specialised skills and knowledge. For example, Mr Lok Chee How is a specialist in the field of Badminton, and a current Team Manager of the Singapore Schools Sports Team. On the other hand, Mr Khusairi is a very competent football coach and a qualified Outdoor Adventure trainer.
Programs Highlights
- Well-Being Run
The Well-Being Run is a whole-school programme conducted to encourage all our students and staff to engage in at least a 2km run-walk once every fortnightly. This programme began as part of our effort to promote the spirit of Olympism during the 2008 Beijing Summer Olympics and has remained as one of our mainstay in our CHERISH Award. - Olympic Education @ CSS
In celebration of 2012 London Olympic Games, the PE Department created an Olympic Education module, where students got the opportunity to play a series of intra/inter-class games during PE lessons. There was also a poster design competition, Olympic Education Display booths and X-box Kinect games stations set up featuring games played during the 2012 London Olympic Games.
